University computers have Windows Updates managed by ITS. Please still check for Windows Updates in the event that new updates were not installed.

Windows Update Instructions


Windows 10

  1. Select the Start button or Windows Key (on the keyboard) and do a search for "Windows Updates". You can also go to Microsoft Update to locate Windows Updates
  2. In the left pane, click Check for updates, and then wait while Windows looks for the latest updates for your computer.

  3. If you see a message telling you that important updates are available, select all important updates to install.

  4. Click Install updates.

  • Some updates may require you to restart your computer to finish installing. Save and close all your programs before restarting to prevent data loss.
    After restarting, please repeat step #2 and then restart your machine if neccessary. Repeat until there are no more Important Updates.


Windows 7
